Currently we are in a battle not only for the future of our museum but for the future of the Black community in Seattle. From Harlem to the Central District, Black people are being displaced from their communities through gentrification. Seattle as a part of it’s own ethnic cleansing campaign, has sought to infiltrate, sabotage and minimize the development of the AAHMCC.
The City of Seattle at the direction of corporate shot callers including Paul Allen, Bill Gates Howard Schultz, and Washington Mutual CEO, Kerry Killinger, are involved in a high level political scheme to cheat the African-American citizens of their museum and community.
They are seeking to further the gentrification of Seattle by replacing the African American Heritage Museum with a condominium based private real estate development that will feature a token museum.
Many who were not involved with the struggle to create this much needed institution have come forth seeking to exploit the efforts of those who sacrificed.
This same clique of “Dream Killers” including Norm Rice, Bob Flowers, etc. were involved in the destruction of other Black institutions including SOIC, Central Area Public Development Authority, Central Area Schools Council, among others.
In order to ensure a brighter future of opportunity to generations to come we must stop individuals and organizations who do not represent our collective best interest from selling us out for their own personal gain.
